Rocko’s Arm Workout

The number one thing most weight lifters want is big arms. Who wouldn’t want rock hard arms with tall peaked biceps complimented by large horseshoe shaped triceps?  If you want to get noticed then these are the show off muscles that will get you noticed. You need to take the guesswork out of building big arms and gain a real understanding. You have to find the right weight lifting program aimed at getting guns you can be proud of. I will try to clear up some misunderstandings about getting big arms. It’s all about choosing the correct weight lifting program.

Facts about arm training

Many workout programs fail to address three very important things when it comes to arm training.

  1. If you overwork your arms they will not get big because they are small muscles groups and tend to not like too much work.Did you know that when you do exercises like bench presses, dead lifts and lat pulldowns you are stressing the arms already? Limit the amount of bicep and tricep training, if you are including bench presses and deadlifts, they aren’t really neccessary. It would be a good idea to reduce the amount of these isolation exercises because it is only hurting your chances of getting big arms.
  2. The biceps get a heavy workout when you are doing the basic exercises that include pulling. Most of the exercises that work out your back are also working out your biceps. As you increase the weight in these exercises the biceps have to grow to be able to pull the weight effectively. There is no reason to do multiple sets of curls after doing a heavy back workout. This is a sure fire way to make sure you fail at getting big arms.

  3. Think about this when you are getting ready to perform a full tricep workout. By doing bench presses and military presses you have stressed the triceps plenty for the week. If you workout your triceps to much this small but very strong muscle will become overworked.

What these truths tell us is that getting strong muscular arms is more the result of heavy chest and back training. This is not to say that you should not do any arm exercises. If you still want to workout your biceps and triceps then do it in moderation. Just don’t make the mistake many weight lifters make and blast your arms to the point that they actually retard the growth. This would be a fast track to tiny arms.
